ABOUT US

Debbie Anderson

Debbie is the principal teacher and owner of The Anderson School of Dance.

Debbie has danced for over 25 years starting with Ballet at the age of 6, then progressing onto Latin American, Ballroom & Freestyle Disco. Debbie completed all of her medals under the training of Mr & Mrs Yard from the Walderslade School of Dancing. There, Debbie realised her passion was in Freestyle Disco & Latin American Dance of which she loved. Debbie stayed at the school until Mr & Mrs Yard retired and then decided to open up her own Dance School teaching Freestyle Disco, and so The Anderson School of Dance was born.

Over the years Debbie has tried various styles of dancing starting with Ballet, then going into Ballroom, Latin American, Freestyle Disco & Line Dancing (of which Debbie was 1995/96 Line Dance Champion), then Ceroc & Salsa for fun & more recently to broaden her knowledge & expand her skills taking modern jazz, theatre craft and tap classes!!

Debbie is a fully qualified dance teacher with the IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association) & hopes to expand her teaching qualifications in the not too distant future to open classes in other subjects.

Dancing always has and always will be Debbie’s one love. The school is her number one priority. She enjoys teaching and sharing her love for dance with others.

Naomi Saberi

Naomi has helped out at the school since the very beginning. During that time she has had 3 lovely little children (2 boys & 1 baby girl), in which Tia is proving that she can dance before she can even walk!!

Naomi has had many years dance experience being trained along side Debbie at the Walderslade School of Dancing taking medals in Ballroom, Latin American and Freestyle Disco.

Naomi has a vast knowledge of dance and enjoys sharing it with pupils of all ages. Naomi is always willing to help out at least 2 –3 evenings per week, even though she has a full-time job as a mum.

Naomi is friendly and easy-going, and gets on really well with everyone.

Katy Beard

Katy has been dancing for approximately 4 years. She began as an adult pupil, then got involved with one of the schools major shows in 2006, and has been helping out ever since.

Although being married with a little boy and working full-time in London, Katy always ensures she is there to help on a weekly basis.

Katy loves dance and helping others, but only wishes she started when she was a little girl. Her love of dance has now encouraged her two nieces to come, who like Katy are very dedicated.

Katy is fun to have around and gets on well with all the children and adults alike.

Daphne Anderson

Daphne is Debbie’s Mum!!! Whenever there is any sewing needed for the shows or general outfits Daphne is there. More often than not Daphne is known to be up in the early hours creating outfits or sewing on sequins.

Daphne is a general all-round helper for the school, from making tea for examiners, keeping the pupils under control to helping backstage at shows & organising changes.

‘Mum’ has always been there to support Debbie and the school although she has a job that keeps her very busy as well.

Mum, Naomi & Katy are all invaluable helpers at the school. Debbie is very lucky to have them all & very much appreciates what they do.
