The Anderson School of Dance has been established for over 10 years specialising in Freestyle / Disco.
Freestyle / Disco is an artistic dance style incorporating moves from many different aspects of dance. Depending on the rhythm of the music we adapt our moves accordingly. We could include, for example, Latin American styles, Salsa, Line Dancing, Street, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Jazz and even Tap!!
Over the past years we have held 4 major shows at The Central Theatre in Chatham, Kent and numerous other shows and events, including a sponsored dance raising over £3000 for Help for Heroes last May. Each Christmas we put on a Talent Show where all the pupils choreograph their own routines and compete for annual trophies.
There are opportunities every 6 months for pupils to participate (if they wish) in the IDTA medal tests, where they can achieve various medals & certificates. This enables the pupils to have something to work towards and gives them confidence within themselves. The shows & medals are not compulsory, it is entirely up to you & your child.
Over the years we have had many pupils come through our doors. Some of these have joined just for the fun side & dance as a hobby, while others have stayed here at the school for years and then gone onto college / university to study dance further.
The Anderson School of Dance has just recently opened at 2 more venues to add to the flagship school at the Hook Meadow Hall, Walderslade, Chatham. Due to popular demand Debbie now runs classes on a weekly basis at Parkwood Junior School, Rainham & also at White Road Community Centre, Chatham.
Debbie aims to provide a fun and friendly atmosphere where pupils of all ages can come along, dance & most of all, enjoy themselves. At The Anderson School of Dance we strive to get the best out of our current pupils & look forward to welcoming new members into the school.
