Welcome to The Anderson School of Dance
... Specialising in Freestyle Dance & Latino Fusion Fitness
The Anderson School of Dance has been established for over 15 years specialising in Freestyle Dance, but more recently introducing Latino Fusion Fitness, Street Crews - both Junior & Senior & now NEW Musical Theatre Singing Classes.
Freestyle Dance is an artistic dance style incorporating moves from many different aspects of dance. Depending on the rhythm of the music we adapt our moves accordingly. We could include, for example, Latin American styles, Salsa, Street, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Jazz, Line Dancing, Bollywood and even Tap!!
Fun Dance & Popularity
Over the years we have had many pupils come through our doors. Some of these have joined just for the fun side and danced as a ‘hobby’, while others have stayed here at the School for a number of years and studied Teacher Training with Debbie herself, while others have gone onto College / University to study Dance further.
The Anderson School of Dance has established 2 more venues at Parkwood Junior School in Parkwood, Rainham & now at the Chatham Suburban Club just off Maidstone Road in Chatham, to add to the ‘Flagship’ School at the Hook Meadow Hall in Walderslade, Chatham.
Debbie aims to provide a fun and friendly atmosphere where pupils of all ages can come along, dance and most of all, enjoy themselves. At The Anderson School of Dance we strive to get the best out of our current pupils and look forward to welcoming new members into the school.
We are not just a run-of-the-mill Dance School, we strive to get the best out of all our pupils & are just like one large family!

Stage Shows & Medals
Over the past 15 years we have held numerous events and shows including various Fancy Dress Workshops, Exams, Medal Presentation Evenings, Talent Shows, Open Day Displays, Christmas Light Switch-on Public Performances, as well as 5 Major Shows at The Central Theatre in Chatham High Street and also performing at Her Majesty’s Theatre in Haymarket, London (Home of The Phantom of the Opera) during March this year.
Debbie is very proud of all her pupils and her Dance School and is very pleased to announce that we have raised 2 significant amounts over the past few years for 2 absolutely Amazing Charities. First of all £3000 raised in 2008 for Help for Heroes & then more recently £3500 raised for Parkinsons UK in March 2012.
There are opportunities every 6 months for pupils to participate (if they wish) in the IDTA medal tests, where they can achieve various medals and certificates. This enables the pupils to have something to work towards and gives them confidence within themselves. 2 pupils have recently been nominated from an outside IDTA examiner for the prestigious Freestyle Scholarships held in Birmingham every May. These pupils were in the top 75 out of over 5000 candidates. A fantastic achievement thats for certain!
The shows and medals are not compulsory, it is entirely up to you and your child.
Meet the teachers and helpers who make the classes both fun and educational.
